AC30V drive has been designed to provide users with exceptional levels of control for pump, fan and general purpose applications. Its flexible and highly modular construction enables a wide range of communications and I/O modules to be easily added as required.
The AC30V has been designed with simplicity in mind, but this doesn’t compromise its functionality. Integrated macros for a range of applications and PLC functionality enable more capable users to create sophisticated control that would previously have required a separate PLC.
Designed for operation in environment class 3C3 and 3C4 for Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) as standard (tested at 25ppm for 1200 hours), temperatures up to 50°C with optional integrated EMC filter to C2 1st environment and DC choke to reduce line harmonics. AC30V also Complies with RoHS substance restrictions in accordance with EC Directive 2011/65/EU.

AC30V is supplied complete with many features designed to simplify pump and fan control. In addition to quick setup, dedicated pump and fan macros, there are a number of other features dedicated to energy-saving pump and fan control such as:
Automatic belt breakage detectionInteractive monitoring of the running conditions of a fan allows AC30V to detect a breakage in the drive belt between the fan and motor, stop the motor and indicate an alarm condition.

Catching a spinning load - "fly-catching"The fan control algorithms enable the AC30V to detect when a fan is free-wheeling and to regain control of it before running it at the commanded speed.

PID ControlMultiple PID control loops can be programmed to monitor process variables and adjust the speed of the motor accordingly to achieve the required variable setpoint.
Intelligent Pump ProfilesOur advanced intelligent pump control algorithms monitor motor loads and provides users with a number of features designed specifically for pump control applications, such as:
   • Pump dry running protection
   • Flow detection (low and no-flow)
   • Blocked pump detection
Essential services (Fire mode)Selected via digital input, Fire mode will cause the drive to run continuously at the maximum programmed speed ignoring all other control signals and alarm conditions.
Energy OptimizationUnder constant speed conditions, the motor power waveforms from the drive are optimized to reduce motor energy consumption without compromising performance.
Skip FrequenciesUp to 4 speed and frequency bands can be programmed in the AC30V, to enable resonant points on the fan to be avoided, reducing vibration, wear and noise.

Timed Run Function10 daily start/stop events can be programmed with different running speeds across a 7 day period. This function requires the optional Real Time Clock (RTC) module and is ideally suited to applications where regular operating patterns or periods of activity need to be accomodated, such as in a production environment.

Process TimersMultiple hours-run timers can be programmed to generate text alerts on the drive keypad to coincide with process maintenance intervals.
Parker Drive Quicktool (PDQ) Software

PDQ is a programming, monitoring and diagnostic software platform for AC30V series variable speed drives. Communication between the drive and PC is via the in-built Ethernet port at the top of of the drive. The software will automatically detect all AC30V's connected to the Ethernet network. A number of wizards guide users through every aspect of using the software:
• Setup wizards guide the user through every stage of commissioning a new drive, or reconfiguring an existing drive; from selecting a motor from the supplied database, or entering specific motor data, through to configuring application macro's or control logic to suit your specific application. 
• Tuning wizards allow technicians to monitor and adjust drive parameters in either a simple predefined environment or an advanced mode which allows access to every parameter in the drive.

Compact drive for permanent magnet motors without sensor 

Description

The AC650S series is designed to save energy in general purpose applications by replacing induction motors with more efficient permanent magnet (PMAC) motors.

Easy to commission and maintain, it runs the motor without speed sensor.

It is available up to 1.5 kW for 230V supply and up to 7.5kW for 460V three-phase supply.

Features and benefits

Side-by-side mounting reduces the space used in an enclosure.

Energy savings achieved when using a permanent-magnet motor instead of an induction motor can amount to up to 12%, thanks to the higher efficiency of permanent magnet motors.

The AC650S comes with one PID controller. It can be set to control process parameters like pressure or flow rate.

Sensorless motor control eliminates the need for a speed sensor, which improves the system reliability.

Easy commissioning thanks to built-in application macros for the most common applications and free setup wizard.

Built-in filter for EMC compliance to EN61800-3.

Energy savings

The AC650S drive features an advanced sensorless control algorithm for permanent-magnet motors.
Coupled with the high efficiency of Parker permanent-magnet motors, huge electricity costs savings can be achieved.

Maximum compactness for smaller machines - no need for forced ventilation.


The Parker PM motors are up to 75% smaller than same power induction motors, which allows ultra-compact machinery designs. Furthermore, the motors are available with a very economical brake option.

Minimum enclosure space

The AC650S is among the smallest drive of the market. Side-by-side mounting is possible, which minimizes even more the space required in panels for multi-drives systems.

Typical applications


Used in combination with AC650S drives, Parker permanent magnet motors are recommended as alternatives to induction motors in the following applications :

- When energy savings are important : conveyers, fans, pumps, hydraulic systems, extruders

- In compact machines, when compact drive solutions are mandatory or when room in cubicle is limited : machine-tools, packaging machines, conveyers, winders/unwinders, special purpose machines.

General Purpose High Performance AC Drives 

Description

The AC650V expands upon the simple, no-fuss philosophy of the AC650 and provides reliable, robust motor control from 0.3 to 150 HP (0.25kW to 110kW). With the addition of sensorless flux vector technology, the AC650V allows improved motor control at lower speeds, better speed regulation of variable loads and higher starting torques for high inertia systems. The variable torque configuration option above 7.5HP makes the AC650V ideally suited to energy saving in pump and fan applications.

Description

The AC690+ series is a single range of AC drives designed to meet the requirements of all variable speed applications from simple single motor speed control through to the most sophisticated integrated multi-drive systems.
The heart of the AC690+ is a highly advanced 32-bit microprocessor based motor control model. This provides an exceptional dynamic performance platform to which can be added a host of communications and control options, enabling you to tailor the drives to meet your exact requirements.
The AC690+ is available in 380-500V 3-phase 1 to 1500 HP and 220V-240V 1 to 75 HP.

Features

The AC690+ can be user configured for 3 different modes of operation :

Open-loop (volts/frequency) control
This mode is ideal for basic motor speed control, or multiple motors driven in parallel. The quick set-up menu and plain language display ensures the quickest and easiest, trouble free start up.

Sensorless vector control
High starting torque and tight speed regulation is provided by a sophisticated MRAS (Model Reference Adaptive System) motor control strategy. MRAS provides accurate speed simulation (without the need for any speed measuring transducer) by continually modeling the motor.

Closed-loop vector control
Full closed-loop flux vector performance can be achieved with the AC690+ by simply adding an encoder feedback ‘technology box’.
This provides 100% continuous full load standstill torque plus a highly dynamic speed loop (up to 45 Hz bandwidth) ; more than sufficient for the most demanding of applications.

Function block programming:
Function block programming allows a tremendously flexible control structure to be created with ease. An almost infinite combination of user functions can be realized often alleviating the need for an external PLC. However, the drive is pre-configured so it can be used straight from the box as a standard AC drive without further adjustment.
